Meet Alissa "Alley" Austin

I have 4 wonderful children of my own; Aidan is almost 7 and he will be attending 1st Grade at Spruce Street, Ashlynn is almost 5 and is attending Headstart and 4K this year, Abigail is 3 and is attending Headstart this year, Aaron is 2 and will be attending daycare with your child(ren). I have been a stay at home mom for the majority of their lives. I have also worked out of home full time but had decided I would like to finally start my in-home daycare...a dream of mine for many years!

Before I was a mom I had the opportunity to work as a daycare/preschool teacher and also as a tutor for ages 3-14. I have a Teachers Aide Diploma and will be taking the required courses to become a Licensed Daycare Provider, I am not currently Certified nor Licensed.  We will however be following all Licensing rules!

I believe in a safe, secure loving and stimulating environment where children will experience success and develop a sense of self worth. My development program fosters emotional, social, physical and intellectual growth. I believe parent/provider communication is key to a successful childcare relationship and it is my hope that you feel comfortable discussing your child’s needs with me. I strive to work with you as a team to provide a happy and safe environment for all children.  The children are NEVER left unattended (the reason there are always 2 of us here)!

We have a consistent structured day full of learning, fun and play! Each child will be assigned a cubby, a hook and a shoe box on the porch with their name on it! My goal is to keep open communication with all parents. You will receive a monthly calendar with our scheduled activities along with a newsletter. Our theme calendar and weekly menu will be posted by the door on the parent board!

My main goal is to help each child reach their fullest potential, by a variety of fun, developmentally appropriate learning experiences through play and by providing loving guidance in a safe environment.
